Sup, I wanted to share a little about where I am right now in my journey as an artist. Recently, I became a parent to a beautiful baby daughter, her name is Denim. And with her arrival, I expected to be struck by a profound wave of creative inspiration. But, to be honest, that hasn't been the case.
Instead, my focus has shifted towards providing for her through my art. This shift has brought its own kind of inspiration. It's not the grand, sweeping vision I expected, but a quieter, more practical drive to ensure her future.
In the meantime, I've found joy in creating sensory paintings for her. Perhaps that's where the real inspiration lies—creating something tangible and meaningful for the most important person in my life. Art is about connection, and now I feel more connected than ever, both to my craft and to my daughter.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
*Sensory Art: Black and white sensory art for babies can help with their visual and brain development. Newborns' color perception is limited to black, white, and shades of gray, and their retinas can only detect large contrasts between these colors. Black and white patterns with high contrast stand out in their blurry worlds, and babies tend to look at them longer than low-contrast patterns. This helps their eyes distinguish between light and dark areas, and sends stronger signals to their brains, which can lead to more brain growth and faster visual development. Black and white patterns can also help babies develop their ability to focus and coordinate their eyes, and see the dimensions of objects more clearly.
